Former Kansas City Chiefs safety Justin Reid reached agreement today with the New Orleans Saints on a three-year, $31.5 million deal, including $22.25 million fully guaranteed, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

A native of Prairieville, Louisiana, Reid joins fellow safeties Tyrann Mathieu and Jordan Howden in New Orleans.

Reid, 28, joined the Kansas City Chiefs in 2022 as a free agent. A full-time starter in three seasons in Kansas City, he had three interceptions, four sacks and 265 sacks in 51 regular-season games.

Reid also had 1.5 sacks in 10 playoff games, winning two championships with the Chiefs.

Reid also filled in on kickoff duties for the Chiefs in both 2022 and ’24, handling 16 kickoffs total. He also was 1 of 2 on extra point attempts in 2022.

Before joining the Chiefs, Reid played four seasons for the Houston Texans, who picked him in the third round of the 2018 NFL draft out of Stanford. Reid had seven interceptions and two sacks with the Texans.

ESPN’s Adam Teicher contributed to this report.
