Several Pakistani actors’ Instagram accounts go dark in India

The Indian government has blocked access to multiple Instagram accounts of Pakistani actors in India.
According to multiple Indian news outlets, the stars included Hania Aamir, Mahira Khan, Ali Zafar, Sanam Saeed, Bilal Abbas, Iqra Aziz, Imran Abbas, and Sajal Aly.

Interestingly, Fawad Khan was not targeted despite his upcoming film Abir Gulaal, starring Vaani Kapoor, facing boycott calls.

The decision comes from New Delhi, which blocked 16 YouTube accounts in Pakistan on the allegation that they were spreading false propaganda.
They are dawn News, Samaa TV, Ary News, Geo News, Bol News, Suno News HD, Raftar, GNN, Irshad Bhatti, The Pakistan Reference, Samaa Sports, Uzair Cricket, Umar Cheema Exclusive, Asma Shirazi, Muneeb Farooq, and Raazi Nama.
However, questions have been raised over which law the BJP-led government made the decision, as per Aditi Agarwal, an Indian journalist covering technology.
The latest sweeping crackdown by India comes in the backdrop of rising tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam attack in IIOJK.
