PCB Suspends Haider Ali Amid UK Criminal Investigation
Right-handed batter Haider Ali has been provisionally suspended by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) amid an ongoing criminal investigation by Greater Manchester Police, the board confirmed on Thursday.
The investigation is linked to an alleged incident that occurred during the recent tour of England by the Pakistan Shaheens.
In its statement, the PCB noted that, as part of its duty of care, it is providing Haider Ali with appropriate legal assistance to ensure his rights are protected throughout the process.
The board also reaffirmed its commitment to respecting legal proceedings in the UK, stating it will not interfere and will allow the investigation to proceed independently.
The provisional suspension takes immediate effect and will remain in place pending the outcome of the investigation.
The PCB also stated that it reserves the right to take further action under its Code of Conduct once the legal process concludes and the facts are fully established.
Until then, the board will not issue any additional comments on the matter.
Haider, 24, has represented Pakistan in two ODIs and 35 T20Is since making his debut in 2020.
