Fresh off the release of their Wild Ponies alternate identity, the Delmarva ShorebirdsSingle-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles in the Carolina League, unveiled an alternate logo based on their mascot, Sherman the Shorebird. The logo accentuates the mascot’s most notable features, orange fur, confetti-colored hair, and a pronounced yellow beak.

“From Day 1, Sherman has been a part of the Shorebirds family perfectly completing the Shorebirds brand not only at Perdue Stadium, but in our community,” Shorebirds General Manager Chris Bitters said in a statement. “Sherman has brought so much joy to fans whether at appearances, on social media, or at Shorebirds games, that honoring Sherman through this new logo design immortalizes what Sherman means to our community.”

The Shorebirds, who play in the Maryland portion of the Delmarva (Delaware-Maryland-Virginia) Peninsula, will wear the Sherman logo on their caps April 27 to celebrate Sherman’s birthday, and it will be used in 2026 on the team’s batting practice caps. Off the field, the logo will be incorporated into giveaway hockey sweaters June 12.
