DJ Akademiks looks back at Kendrick Lamar, Drake beef

Kendrick Lamar and Drake arguably had the most-followed beef in the hip-hop industry.
Marking its first year, DJ Akademiks has taken to social media to rank each song based “on quality, bars, not impact.”
The host, who has good ties with Drizzy, puts Family Matters first—followed by K.Dot’s Euphoria.
The list includes Not Like Us, Push Ups, 6:16 in LA, Taylor Made Freestyle, The Heart Part 6, Buried Alive Part 2, and Meet The Grahams.

Previously, there was anticipation that Drake would respond to Kendrick in his joint album $ome $exy $ongs 4 U with PartyNextDoor.
However, Akademikis claimed the album had no response from the Grammy winner.
“I spoke to Drake and shoot, after watching Kendrick’s performance that felt so obsessed with Drake at the Super Bowl, I actually asked him,” the 33-year-old said.
He continued, “I said ‘hey bro, I hope this album is not gonna be completely obsessed with this guy.’ And he actually told me directly, he said, ‘hey listen, I’m not giving him any more energy.'”
People want him to weep and come out and cry,” the internet personality explained. “No he’s not gonna do that,” Akademikis concluded.
