TSA PreCheck: A guide to the program’s participating airports and airlines

TSA PreCheck users get to avoid long airport security lines and the annoying process of taking off their shoes and removing laptops, liquids and other items from their carry-on bags. The program allows preapproved, low-risk travelers to expedite security.

According to the Transportation Security Administration, 99% of TSA PreCheck users have a wait time of less than 10 minutes when going through airport security.

Though TSA PreCheck costs $76.75 to $85 for a five-year membership, depending on the provider you choose, many credit cards cover the application fees.

As of 2025, TSA PreCheck is available at more than 250 airports and with 100-plus airlines.

Here’s what you need to know.

How to save money on TSA PreCheck

If you don’t have Global Entry, you might not realize that it also includes a membership to TSA PreCheck.

Several cobranded airline, hotel and other credit cards offer up to $120 in statement credit reimbursement for the application fees associated with both programs. This credit is typically available every four to five years, though you should check the terms for your specific card for the exact frequency.

Some of the cards conveying free TSA PreCheck and/or Global Entry memberships are:

Speaking from personal experience, the program is well worth the investment for the time it saves you when traveling, particularly if you can save money using the right credit card.
